OUR BIKES

GRAN PARADISO

At Hampsten Cycles we continue to fine-tune our Gran Paradiso line of lightweight skinny-tire road frames featuring rim brakes . All versions – Il Barone, Levico, Squadra, and Titanio – are intended for fast road riding, butt-kicking on weekends, and/or full-on racing. This model works best with tires in the 25 to 32mm range. All Gran Paradiso frames are built as custom and designed right here at HampCo Seattle.

IL MOSTRO

Back in the year 2000 we started making bicycles upon which one could enjoy riding gravel roads or use as a commuter and we’re quite happy with how they’ve been working out. But technology and tastes march ever-onward: what was seen then as a noble end-point is considered now – by some – to be laughably inadequate. Bigger tires, stronger brakes, electronic shifting, better frames and wheels – there are so many options that didn’t exist back in the previous century and we’re embracing many of them now.

STRADA BIANCA/STRADA BRUTA

As much as we love fast road bikes with skinny tires and quick handling, we figured out early on that we wanted a bike for a different type of riding. Exploring dirt paths and gravel roads, riding in the rain, commuting, or running errands wearing normal clothes – sometimes extreme measures call for resuscitating the past.

TEAM PRO

Andy and Steve started riding on lugged frames back in the early 1970s and we still think they’re pretty cool. Our Team Pro and Team UOS are designed as short-wheelbase/skinny tire bikes for all-around sport riding or we can stretch things a bit for bigger tires and/or fenders, useful whilst commuting or riding in less-clement weather. Each frame is brazed right here at HampCo Towers by our own Martin Tweedy, who has been building for us since 2000.
